About The Founder
The I.M.A.N.I. Project is an acronym for INSPIRING, MENTORING AND NURTURING INDIVIDUALS. My name is Imani Baylor, and this project is an extension of the work I do with the youth. As an after school instructor for many years, I found my niche in providing services for at risk youth in the Bay Area. I could have chosen a different route and continued my career in after school programming. However, I knew it wouldn't be as fulfilling. The low compensation I received for the amount of hard work and dedication I put into lesson plans, activities, and program planning weren’t worth it, so I devised a new plan. I decided it was time to start my own business and become an independent contractor. I love using my creativity to teach youth skills they don't always get to learn in school and transform the basic school curriculum into something more fun and relatable. I also created the I.M.A.N.I Project in order to provide services that aren't available to some schools and students in low income communities.
